Parlour Guitar - fingerboard activity!

Here I'm preparing the glueing surface of the fingerboard, the underside.  I'm making it flat  to an even 7mm thickness, using a small block plane with a toothed blade.  The toothed blade helps me avoid tear out in the wood.  Later I will use a scraper plane to further flatten the surface.

Here i'm carefully marking out the fret positions in preparation for cutting the fret slots.  Lots of double checking, calculator bashing and head scratching going on here :)

Carefully cutting the fret slots useing a jig that helps me keep the saw cut at 90 degrees to the centre line and also helps me cut to an accurate and even depth for the fret tang.

Fret slots are cut and the fingerboard is ready to be located for glueing.  If you look at the hygrometer in the photo you can see it reads 74% relative humidity, which is far too high for glueing.

I'll store the guitar and fingerboard in my wood store, this is kept at around 43 to 53% relative humidity.  This is where i do most of my glueing.  I'll give it a few days then get the fingerboard glued on.
